Client Financial Dashboard. Jusnote – track payments, WIP & outstanding balances

Client Financial Dashboard

The “Finance” dashboard in the client profile allows you to monitor the financial status of your business relationship with the client in real time. It displays key metrics across all client matters: payments received, collection rate, work in progress (WIP), outstanding balances, and available retainer.

Info⚠️ Note: Access to this dashboard is available only to users with the Administrator or Billing Manager roles.

Key Metrics

1. Collection Rate (%)
Shows the percentage of issued invoices that have actually been paid by the client across all their matters. This metric helps evaluate the client’s payment performance.

Formula:

  • Σ Payments received — actual payments collected from the client across all matters.

  • Σ Approved invoices — the total amount of invoices that were approved and issued to the client.

2. Client Payments Amount
Displayed below the percentage circle, it shows the total sum of all client payments across all matters in the default currency.

3. W.I.P. (Work in Progress)
Represents billed (completed) but not yet invoiced work. In other words, it shows the work that has not been included in an approved invoice.

  • In money: the value of billed hours not included in approved invoices.

  • In hours: the number of billed hours not included in approved invoices.

4. Retainer
Shows the amount of retainer funds deposited by the client but not yet “earned” by the law firm.

5. W.I.P. Expenses
Displays the amount of expenses incurred for the client that have not yet been included in an invoice.

Why these metrics matter:
  • To monitor each client’s financial condition and forecast revenues.

  • To understand which portion of work is already paid, which is waiting for invoicing, and which is non-billable.

  • To plan client engagement and manage outstanding balances effectively.

IdeaTip: Regularly analyze W.I.P. and Outstanding balances to issue invoices on time and avoid unpaid bills.
